Black Horse Tack & Apparel Co. is
located on Marylands Eastern Shore between Denton and Easton, MD on
Route 328 (Matthewstown Rd.), just over the Talbot County line. We are
friendly folks who always have the coffee pot on for company as well as
an extra chair. Black Horse is a place where there is always a smile and
always time to see that our customers needs are met. Our product lines
range from the very best, to general everyday use items. We refuse to
sell junk. We are honest people and should we find we do not have what
you want on hand, we will do our utmost to get it for you. Special
requests are never frowned upon and if you use something often we make a
point to have it for you all the time. We have driven saddles to horses
and have had horses in the parking lot to be fitted. We are a real tack
store owned by real people and we are dedicated to meeting our customers
real needs.
History
Black Horse Tack & Apparel Company is
a full service English and Western Tack and Apparel store. Its roots
date back to 1967 when Dave, Charlotte and Pam Bevis opened the same
sort of store in New Castle, Delaware named "Bunny Junction" (because
its location is Hares Corner). The Bevises were very active in the horse
world. Success was gradual and eventually the store became both English
as well as Western and stocked over 10,000 pair of boots at one time.
That store was purchased in 2001 by the grandson of the Bevises, Eric
Hanna. Since that time, the Hanna family has made some changes to the
business by adding two mobile units and attending horse shows and other
equestrian events.
After 39 years the world has grown up and
around Bunny Junction and so a new store was opened in 2006 between
Easton and Denton, Maryland, named Black Horse Tack & Apparel Co.
It is operated by the Hanna family with the same friendly, knowledgeable
service that people know and appreciate at Bunny Junction. Whether a
customer is a novice beginner, an old barn hand or a rider of olympic
skills, they are treated with all the knowledge and service that a store
can possess. Eric has grown up in the industry and his partner, Cindy
Lundberg, has done the same on the backs of horses in each and every
discipline, from barrel racing to eventing to hunter/jumper to dressage.
She knows horses and she knows equipment. Together, they have what you
are looking for when you are shopping for you & your horse.
